We provide free vision screenings, prescription eyeglasses, and other sight-saving services to individuals who otherwise would not have access to them.

Position Summary: Friends for Sight is seeking a Vision Clinic and Outreach Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience as an Optometric Technician, a background in program management, and a passion for providing vision services to underserved communities. In this role, you will report to the Executive Director, manage our vision clinics and outreach events, and nurture valued partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all administrative aspects of Friends of Sight vision clinics and mobile eye exam services;
Supervise and train clinic staff;
Perform a variety of pre-exam duties in clinic, supporting our volunteer doctors
Travel to partner locations, clinics, and events locally and across various areas of the State;
Plan and implement SightFest events;
Develop and nurture relationships with partners and volunteers;
Collaborate with staff to develop and implement program goals, strategies, and metrics

Desired Qualifications: Certification or worked as an Optometric or Ophthalmic Technician for 1 year. Or completion of a training program approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education;
Experience working with underserved populations and communities;
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with electronic medical records.
