: Working closely with the Program Director and Executive Director, the Program Coordinator oversees all aspects of our Youth and Adult Vision Screening programs. Responsibilities include scheduling vision screenings at schools, businesses, and community events, as well as managing volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling for those events. Typical weeks will include time spent in the office scheduling screenings and coordinating volunteers, time in the community attending screenings, recruiting volunteers, and looking for new opportunities to expand our important services. There is flexibility with hours in summer and school vacation schedules.Primary Responsibilities
: Build relationships with school nurses, school directors, and event coordinators to schedule and help them prepare for vision screening appointments for their respective groups.
Attend vision screenings as necessary across the Wasatch Front and work to provide an efficient and accurate
vision screening experience.
Manage and coordinate all aspects of recruitment, training and scheduling of youth and adult vision screening
Build and manage relationships with community engagement centers of area Universities to cultivate ongoing
Manage and maintain screening equipment, and coordinate transfer of equipment between volunteers.
Gather monthly data and report statistics to Executive Assistant.
Represent Friends for Sight at volunteer recruitment and community health events.
Perform in-office vision screenings as necessary and coordinate available resources for low-income individuals.Desired Qualifications
: A passion for service and working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Significant computer and organizational skills.
